Dr Rajan Narula

Dr Rajan Narula is a senior consultant urologist with decades of experience in urological surgery and interests in kidney, prostate and bladder cancer, urinary tract stones and infections.

Dr Narula completed his undergraduate and general surgical training from the prestigious national Armed Forces Medical College in India where he achieved top university honours, including the University Medal for Surgery.  After practicing in general surgery for over a decade, he relocated to Stavanger, Norway, here he trained in Urology at the Stavenger University Hospital and obtained the Scandinavian qualifications in General Surgery and Urology.  Dr Narula then worked as a Consultant and Director of Training until 2007, before seeking a bit of paradise in Townsville.

Over the past 12 years, Dr Narula offered his expertise to the population of North Queensland as the Director of Urology at the Townsville Hospital in addition to his private practice at the Mater Hospital, Townsville.  He established the Townville Hospital urology department and recognition as an accredited training site for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Dr Narula has presented a personal series of Radical Prostatectomy and Laparoscopic Nephrectomy operations at major national and international urology meetings.  He underwent prostate brachytherapy training at the Seattle Institute and is certified for all types of laser surgery for prostate and unrinary stones.

Dr Narula continues to be an active member of the European and Scandinavian Urology Associations, in addition to the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Narula is focused on offering skilled, honest and patient-centred care to the residents of the Sunshine Coast, where he and his family have decided to settle.

Outside of work Dr Narula is sampling the coast's culinary offerings and bakeries and spending time wiht his two daughters and wife.  He hopes to learn to surf one day.
