Local residents to run coffee shop at new private hospital

May 20, 2013

Ramsay Health Care today announced Remedy has been selected as the onsite coffee shop operator at its new hospital under construction in Kawana

Remedy will run the onsite coffee shop at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital when it opens later this year.

Hospital CEO Kimberley Pierce said Remedy had been selected following a competitive tender process to which a number of high quality proposals had been received.

"Ramsay Health Care is pleased to have selected Remedy to run the coffee shop at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital," Ms Pierce said.

"Remedy is a local business and we are looking forward to working with them."

Remedy is owned and operated by local Sunshine Coast residents Nathan and Georgia Nichol.

They have been successfully operating the cafe at Noosa Hospital for the past three years, with the business being an integral part of the hospital.

With Nathan being a fully qualified chef and Georgia's experience in a hospital setting, their partnership provides the perfect blend of hospitality and hospital experience, and a strong understanding of the day to day operations and demands of both a busy hospital environment and a food service outlet.

Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital is due to open in November 2013.
