Radiology provider announced for new private hospital

Ramsay Health Care today announced Sunshine Coast Radiology has been selected as the preferred provider for radiology services at its new hospital under construction in Kawana.

Sunshine Coast Radiology will be the onsite provider of radiology services at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital when it opens in late 2013.

Ramsay Health Care Queensland State Manager Lloyd Hill said Sunshine Coast Radiology had been selected following a competitive tender process to which a number of high quality proposals had been received.

Sunshine Coast Radiology is a privately owned company, with all doctors and staff who own and work in its practices, living locally.

"Ramsay Health Care is pleased to have selected a local company to operate this service, in turn creating jobs for those living in the Sunshine Coast region," Mr Hill said.

"Sunshine Coast Radiology has provided onsite services at Nambour Selangor and Caloundra Private Hospitals, both Ramsay facilities, for a number of years and we are looking forward to working with them at our new hospital."

The company currently operates a total of nine practices across the Sunshine Coast, making it the largest provider of radiology services in the region.

The Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital development is well underway and on target to open in late 2013.

The hospital will have an initial capacity of 200 beds, six operating theatres, a day surgery centre, a day chemotherapy unit and an 8 bed intensive care unit.
