Dr Jeff Macemon is a Specialist Cardiothoracic Surgeon consulting and operating at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. He provides all types of heart and chest surgery with special interest in minimally invasive aortic valve surgery and TAVI, total arterial and beating heart coronary artery bypass, rheumatic heart disease, ascending aortic aneurysm, and minimally invasive lung surgeries.
Well known for his compassionate bedside manner and technical expertise, Dr Macemon is passionate about minimising the impact of illness and operative recovery on his patients' lives. His clinical practice focuses on prehabilitation, patient education, perioperative risk reduction, and enhanced recovery pathways in both cardiac and thoracic surgery.
With experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery since 2005, Dr Macemon completed his training at multiple centres throughout New Zealand and Australia. He is a fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and is a recipient of the Joint Surgical Colleges Medal. He is an active member of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Cardiac Society, the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery, and the Australia & New Zealand Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons.
Dr Macemon is committed to providing and expanding the provision of Cardiothoracic Surgery in Sunshine Coast. He will receive referrals from throughout Sunshine Coast and regional Queensland, and consults frequently over TeleHealth where distances challenge in-person consultation.
