Dr Tim Nathan is an experienced and accomplished Urological Surgeon who has been working on the Sunshine Coast since 2006.

He graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School and undertook specialist training in all aspects of adult urology at London teaching hospitals including the world renowned St Peter’s Hospital (The Institute of Urology).

Tim was fellowship trained in Laparoscopic Urological Surgery at the Princess Alexander Hospital, Brisbane, under Professor David Nicol. He also undertook fellowship training in Laparoscopic and Robotic Radical Prostatectomy with Professor Jens-Uwe Stolzenburg, University Hospital Leipzig, Germany.

Tim’s main area of clinical expertise is the diagnosis and management of urological cancers. He has performed over 1000 procedures to remove cancers of the prostate, bladder and kidney. Tim has been performing robotic surgery to remove prostate and kidney cancers at the Wesley Hospital since 2015. With the availability of the latest Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, he is pleased to offer this advanced surgical procedure locally.

Tim’s other areas of expertise include general urology, laser surgery for benign prostatic enlargement and stone disease, vasectomy reversal, and insertion of prosthetics to treat incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

Tim has published scientific papers on laser treatment for benign and malignant prostatic disease.

Tim aims to combine his extensive experience in complex urological surgery with the latest state of the art minimally invasive techniques to achieve excellent clinical outcomes.
