Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital Official Opening

13 December: Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital was officially opened by Ramsay Health Care Chairman Mr Paul Ramsay AO on 13 December 2013.

Ramsay Health Care Queensland State Operations Manager Lloyd Hill said the official opening was a significant occasion for the company and the Sunshine Coast community.

“Following more than two years of development and construction, we are thrilled to be celebrating the official opening of our new hospital today,” Mr Hill said.

“Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital is bringing much needed health services to one of the fastest growing regions of Australia, reducing the need for Sunshine Coast residents to travel to Brisbane for treatment.”

The 200 bed hospital is offering an extensive range of medical and surgical services. Onsite facilities include six state-of-the-art theatres, a cardiac catheter laboratory, an intensive care unit, a day chemotherapy unit and comprehensive pathology, radiology and pharmacy services.

Ramsay Health Care now operates four facilities on the Sunshine Coast – Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, Nambour Selangor Private Hospital, Noosa Hospital and Caloundra Private Clinic.
