Dr Kareem Marwan is an established Specialist General Surgeon with subspecialty in colorectal (lower gastrointestinal) surgery. His practice is largely minimally invasive, with robotic or laparoscopic surgery offered routinely. He also performs upper and lower GI endoscopy and advanced lower GI endoscopic surgery.
Dr Marwan obtained his surgical fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2012, after training at St Vincent’s Hospital, the Alfred Hospital and Monash Medical Centre. He subsequently undertook a training fellowship in the subspecialty of Colorectal surgery in Colchester Hospital NHS trust, one of the leading UK centres in laparoscopic bowel surgery.
Prior to general surgical training, Dr Marwan had completed advanced paediatric surgery training in Paris, France.
