Dr Manjunath Narayana is an experienced Clinical Haematologist with a special interest in malignant haematology, including lymphoma,
myeloma, acute leukaemia, myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). He holds position at Sunshine
Coast University Hospital (SCUH), where he serves as the lead clinician for Lymphoma services.
Dr Narayana completed his medical degree (MBBS) at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India in 2002. Following his internship,
he gained valuable international experience working as a junior doctor in North Yorkshire and at Liverpool University Hospitals in the United
Kingdom. He migrated to Brisbane in 2006, where he undertook physician training at both the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and
The Prince Charles Hospital.
He completed advanced training in both clinical and laboratory haematology at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Mater Hospital,
and Princess Alexandra Hospital. In 2016, he worked as the final-year advanced haematology trainee at Nambour General Hospital before
being appointed to a full-time Consultant Haematologist position.
In his current role, Dr Narayana is actively involved in clinical research. He is the Principal Investigator for eight ongoing clinical trials in
lymphoma, and a Sub-Investigator for trials in myeloma and acute leukaemia at SCUH. This research focus ensures his patients have
access to cutting-edge therapies and the latest advancements in haematological care.
Dr Narayana works closely with referring GPs and specialists, offering comprehensive diagnostic work-up, evidence-based treatment planning,
and ongoing management for a broad range of haematological conditions. He is committed to collaborative care and welcomes referrals.
